Some days...

Some days there just aren't words. Today would be that day for me. I have conflicting emotions I feel as if my emotions have taken beating like the pounding of today's surf.  And yet I still found gifts. Beautiful reminders of a faithful God.

1. American Flag - a symbol of my freedom
2. Sunrise - reminder of a fresh start
3. Knitting - the ability to be creative

Day 1

"It is because of the Lord's mercy and loving kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not.  They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23 (AMP)

Daily life can be hard at times. In the mundane it can be a struggle to see God's goodness, when there are challenges that struggle becomes compounded. The last few months have been very challenging; I have struggled every day to see God's goodness.  In the midst of this my friend Vanessa suggested I read the book 1000 Gifts: a dare to LIVE FULLY right where you are by author Ann Voskamp.  In the first chapter Ms. Voskamp made a statement that stuck with me and was the impetus for creating this blog. She writes, "...that which tears open our souls, those wholes that splatter our sight, may actually become the thin, open places to see through the mess of this place, to the heart-aching beauty beyond.  To Him" (p. 22).

To see Him.  When I'm worn thin by this life, I need only to remember that simple statement.

In an effort to honor the purpose of Ms. Voskamp's book, I will be creating a photographic chronicle of God's daily gifts in my life. I will choose to see God in my every day.

God's gifts today:
1. Friendship
2. Ocean
3. Sunset
